Help
How to save a Dailymotion video with VidMotion, and what each message means.
Saving a video
Paste the video link and choose "Get video". After the read-out, the page lists the versions the source actually provides. Choose one — this starts a single download task. When the status shows ready, the file saves through your browser as MP4.
Reading the version list
Each line shows the resolution, whether the sound track is included, and the file size when the source reports it ("size unknown" means exactly that). The recommended line is the best version that already contains sound.
Error messages
A link that is not Dailymotion is rejected immediately. "Not found or private" means the video is gone or restricted. A timeout or an upstream error is usually temporary — try again. Over-limit means the video is longer than 30 minutes or its file exceeds 500 MB.
Links and privacy
You do not need an account. Links you paste are used to fetch the video and are not published. Download links are private, bound to your request, and expire after 15 minutes.
Short questions, short answers
- Which links are accepted?
- Only Dailymotion video pages: www.dailymotion.com/video/{id} and the short form dai.ly/{id}. Links to other sites are rejected by design.
- Does the saved file include sound?
- Yes. The recommended version always includes the audio track. If a chosen version is video-only, the sound is merged back in automatically. If the source itself is silent, the page says so.
- Which qualities are listed?
- Exactly the versions the source provides, with the file size when known — nothing is invented or upscaled.
- What are the limits?
- One video at a time per save, up to 30 minutes of duration and 500 MB per file. Downloads run one after another; a short queue may apply.
- Do I need an account or a plugin?
- No. Paste the link, pick a version, save the file.
